The
PediaProject™ is a joint venture between Information Superbrand,
Inc. (ISI) and communities throughout the United States.
MISSION
The mission of the PediaProject™ is to provide educational institutions with the opportunity and the framework to develop an online encyclopedia for their city and their state. In addition to creating a permanent historical timeline for their community it also offers an on-going revenue source for the participating educational institutions.
ISI
RESPONSIBILITIES
ISI will provide the following:
1. Web site domain name reservation for the related CityPedia™
or StatePedia™.
2. Web site template and template instruction.
3. Full e-commerce service including shopping carts, credit processing,
order processing, and customer service center.
4. Marketing of the web site.
COMMUNITY
RESPONSIBILITIES
The participating community will provide the following:
1. Must have a computer lab or equivalent for students to perform basic
html programming.
2. Must have sufficient administrative support to execute program.
3. Must agree to the standard ISI Content Joint Venture Agreement.
4. Must agree to provide all of the historical content about their city
or state either by linking to relevant links on the web or by giving
students assignments to develop their own original content.
5. Must maintain the “fresh links” by providing links and
information about current events in the city and also provide an events
calendar that is kept up to date.
BUSINESS/CO-SPONSORS
- “Anchor Tenants”
Business participants shall be recruited to expose their business to
the community.
1. The business must have an active presence in the city or state.
2. At least one of the accepted businesses must have a retail outlet
with foot traffic that can serve as a sales location for the community
PediaCard™.
3 . Any local business can participate and they will be listed in their
designated business category on a first come, first served basis. Boosters
and supporters of the school may be given the first opportunity to purchase
Business Directories and Information-Marketing™ (IM) pages before
these are marketed to the general public at the discretion of the participating
school.
TIMELINES
The
timeline for the development of the “initial core content” would be
a maximum of 30 days. “Initial core content” is defined as enough information
to launch the Pedia™ and begin soliciting IM opportunities. This
would include basic information about the city or state including historical
content, prominent individuals and businesses, government, tourism,
etc. Once the core content is completed the site will be launched and
IM opportunities will be offered to business owners in the city or state.
This will be initiated on day 31 and will be ongoing from that point
on. Boosters who are attorneys will be given an opportunity for IM pages
in LawPedia™,
auto dealers will be given the opportunity in AutoPedia®,
etc. with a portion of the revenue going to the schools.
SUMMARY
The students at the educational institution will get the educational
experience of developing the online encyclopedia and then given the
opportunity to present Information-Marketing™ opportunities to the
business community. The schools will have an alternative curriculum
to present and another non-traditional revenue source other than state
funding.
